Telemotive AG, the Munich-based supplier of engineering and product development systems involving complex networked systems, has announced an important new addition to its popular family of blue PiraT data loggers. Designed specifically for automotive applications, blue PiraT data loggers monitor a vehicle’s network communication, recording and time stamping relevant data for a chronological comparison of data acquired from different bus systems.
Unveiled at the recent Automotive Testing Expo 2009 (June 16-18 in Stuttgart, Germany), the latest addition to the blue PiraT family is the blue PiraT MOST150. Equipped with a MOST150 interface, two CAN interfaces and four serial interfaces (RS232/RS422), the new data logger expands on the already impressive functionality of the blue PiraT family by adding a compact package capable of recording control messages and status information provided by the MOST150 bus as well as MDP (MOST Data Packets) and MEP (MOST Ethernet Packets) data.
Like its sibling devices in the blue PiraT family, the blue PiraT MOST150 is purpose engineered for automotive applications with its synchronous time stamping, onboard power management and license-based upgrades. Telemotive’s blue PiraT Client, a Windows-based software package bundled with all blue PiraT data loggers, ably handles data transfer and the configuration of filter functions in the new MOST150 logger.
Joining the new data logger on center stage at Automotive Testing Expo 2009 was yet another Telemotive innovation. Called the blue AdmiraL APIX® Protocol Tester, the new device is the first APIX® tester to offer the auto industry a competent development and analysis tool for APIX® image and video data.
With the APIX® tester, users can not only simulate control units, but also record the com-munication between an APIX® transmitter and receiver in spy mode. The data can be analyzed in either online or offline mode. Further, the user may individually configure a wide array of functions.
As this article is written, Telemotive plans to bring the new blue AdmiraL APIX® Protocol Tester to market in July, deploying it at that time to both OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. Full-scale production is expected to start by the end of 2009.
