New Study Promises a Bright Future
The surface quality demands of modern machine components are increasing. A laboratory test at the IWT (Foundation Institute for Materials Science), University of Bremen, Germany, has shown that a surface quality with a mean roughness depth value of Rz = 0.2 μm can be achieved with flexible bonded grinding wheels – and this is without any additional investment. To demonstrate the performance of the wheels, bearing surfaces were ground using a commercially available external cylindrical grinding machine.
